Terms and Conditions of Service
Effective Date: 1/1/2025
1. Acceptance of Terms
By requesting or receiving services from Atlas Small Engine Repair LLC d/b/a Atlas Mobile Small Engine Repair (“Company”), you agree to these Terms and Conditions. Additional service-specific terms may apply depending on the type of repair or service.
2. Estimates & Inspection Fees
-
Phone or online estimates are provided as a courtesy and are not final quotes.
-
Estimates are valid to change after inspection.
-
A $45 inspection/diagnostic fee is required when we examine equipment on site.
-
A $95 house call/service fee applies to all visits.
3. Payment Terms
-
Payment is due in full at the time of service, before the technician leaves the property.
-
If parts must be ordered, payment for parts is required upfront before ordering.
-
If payment is not made at time of service:
-
Day 1 past due: Customer begins receiving reminders.
-
Day 2–4 past due: Additional reminders will be sent.
-
Day 5 past due: The Company will initiate filing of a mechanic’s lien on the serviced equipment and/or the property where the equipment is located.
-
-
Failure to pay may result in collection action and additional fees.
4. Cancellations & Rescheduling
-
We understand emergencies happen. Please provide as much notice as possible.
-
We do not charge extra for missed or canceled appointments.
-
However, if we arrive and the customer is not present — or no notice is given — we may not return for rescheduling.
-
Because we are a mobile service, missed appointments or lack of communication directly affect our ability to serve other customers.
5. Warranties & Limitations
General Policy
-
We do not cover manufacturer defects, pre-existing issues, or failures unrelated to the work performed.
-
Warranties are void if equipment is misused, tampered with, or operated outside manufacturer guidelines.
Service-Specific Policies
Deck Belt Replacements
-
Customer-Supplied Parts: Customers are required to purchase their own replacement deck belt.
-
We recommend purchasing an OEM or high-quality aftermarket belt that matches your equipment specifications.
-
The Company does not supply deck belts due to past customer concerns regarding cost and brand preference.
-
-
No Warranty Coverage:
-
Deck belts are wear-and-tear parts and not covered under any warranty.
-
Failures after installation may result from:
-
Improper equipment cleaning (e.g., buildup of grass, debris, or dirt under the deck).
-
Pre-existing or hidden damage (e.g., bent pulleys, damaged tensioners, or worn bearings).
-
Natural wear from normal use.
-
-
Because belts can fail again due to these factors, we do not warranty deck belt installations.
-
-
Pricing: Variable depending on mower model, deck size, and installation difficulty. Confirmed after inspection.
-
Customer Responsibilities: Ensure the deck is reasonably clean, provide the correct replacement belt, and approve additional repairs if recommended.
Drive Belt Replacements
-
Customer-Supplied Parts: Customers are required to purchase their own replacement drive belt.
-
We recommend OEM or high-quality aftermarket belts.
-
The Company does not supply drive belts due to cost/brand selection preferences.
-
-
Technician Cleaning: Belt area will be cleaned during installation to reduce premature wear.
-
No Warranty Coverage:
-
Drive belts are wear-and-tear parts and not covered under warranty.
-
Failures may result from:
-
Damaged or worn pulleys
-
Faulty tensioner assemblies
-
PTO clutch issues causing belt drag
-
Misuse, lack of maintenance, or poor cleaning
-
Natural wear and tear
-
-
Because these are outside our control, we do not warranty drive belt installations.
-
-
Pricing: Variable depending on mower model and installation difficulty. Confirmed after inspection.
-
Customer Responsibilities: Provide the correct belt and approve additional repairs (pulleys, tensioner, PTO clutch).
Winterization Services
-
Purpose: Prepares equipment for long-term storage (fuel treatment/drainage, oil change or stabilization, and other preventative steps).
-
Intended Benefits: Reduces risk of fuel clogs, oil breakdown, and storage-related failures; increases likelihood of smooth startup next season.
-
No Guarantee: Winterization reduces risk but does not guarantee prevention of carburetor or fuel issues. Storage conditions, fuel quality, age, and normal wear may still cause failures. No warranty applies.
-
Customer Responsibilities: Store equipment in a clean, dry area and follow technician’s recommendations.
-
Pricing: Varies by equipment and service level; confirmed after inspection.
Carburetor Cleaning
-
Purpose: Disassemble, clean, and reassemble the carburetor to address deposits, varnish, or blockages.
-
Intended Benefits: May improve airflow and fuel delivery; lower-cost option than replacement.
-
No Guarantee: Cleaning is performed on a pre-existing issue and does not guarantee restoration. Internal wear, corrosion, or damage may prevent proper function even after cleaning. Replacement may still be required.
-
Customer Responsibilities: Understand that cleaning is an attempt to save the carburetor, not a guaranteed fix; approve further repairs if needed.
-
Pricing: Lower than replacement; varies by equipment and complexity; confirmed after inspection.
Carburetor Replacement
-
Parts & Labor: The Company orders the carburetor and charges for both part and installation. Full payment for the part may be required upfront.
-
Purpose: Used when a carburetor cannot be salvaged through cleaning.
-
No Warranty Coverage:
-
Carburetors are wear-and-tear parts and not covered under warranty.
-
Installing a new carburetor does not guarantee engine performance, as compression issues, ignition faults, fuel contamination, or storage damage may persist.
-
-
Customer Responsibilities: Approve the purchase before ordering; understand replacement may not fix all issues; approve further repairs if recommended.
-
Pricing: Includes part + installation; confirmed after inspection.

11. Force Majeure (Acts of God)
The Company shall not be liable or considered in breach of these Terms for delays or failure to perform caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to weather, accidents, natural disasters, labor disputes, supply chain disruptions, or equipment failure.
12. Limitation on Claims Window
Any claims or disputes related to services must be raised in writing within 30 days of the service date. Claims made after this period will not be accepted.
